Hey all I'm kinda new to the forum thing but anyway I'm Brandon. I live in northern Colorado and I've been interested in reptiles especially snakes since I could walk haha. I started keeping them as pets when I was about 10 or so I'd keep garters I found in my yard. I bred my first pair of cal kings when I was a teenager. I'm 29 now and I just started keeping again about 2 yrs ago. I'm really excited now cuz I'm going to start breeding pituophis as soon as next year! Living in Colorado I have some nice locale bulls as well as Whiteside sunglow and a ghost bull. Then I have a red het albino I got from Jason Nelson and she will not be the only one of his I will own haha can't wait till he starts posting again! I also have a pair of northern pines. This group will no doubt grow I love my kings but have always enjoyed pituophis and can't wait to produce my own. So there's my novel haha looking forward to talking to you guys and as soon as I figure it out I'll share some pics too.

Great intro

Welcome on board Brandon from sunny England!

I'm sure you'll get on fine on here, we are a very laid back bunch and all share the Pituophis passion.

Cheers...........AL

Thank you very much 😊 Definitely looking forward to getting to know everyone. Especially since I've never bred pituophis before. I've done very well in the past with kings and bred corns a couple times so I got a little practice. I have some bulls that should breed next season. My others could but I like to get them a good size then wait one more yr just so I'm not rushing em. They grow so fast tho haha I got this female ghost sayi I bought a lil ovr a yr ago was 17" she's 5' almost at a yr old! My sunglow is only 8 mo and he's 53" I can hardly picture em as babies now haha

Hey, what's up 'new guy'? LoL!I too live in Colorado (Denver) and caught a female Bull (Pituophis Catenifer Sayi) right near the Cherry Creek Trail last year... Didn't know it at the time- she was pregnant! 2 of the 7 eggs laid, hatched and I'm holding one now... Obviously, had I known she was prego, thing's would have been done differently... it was definitely a learning experience. Perhaps in the future I'll have some more eggs, and will do thing's differently in the incubation process so, they all can survive.
I too used to catch Garter Snakes as a child! And had some as pets growing up as well! That's cool you got back into snakes, and taking care of them- Way cool!!
I got 'the Pit FEVER lol,as they say- and absolutely love these little guy's...this forum is AWESOME! (sort of new here as well hahaa!) For what it's worth... WELCOME!

Awww man haha but at least u got 2 out of it. I love this time of year cuz I like to go out and watch the wildlife. Speaking of unprepared tho I bred 2 pairs of my corns and one of my ladies layed yesterday and wat you know my incubator French fried! I'm worried now haha I have them in the back of my snake closet that stays in the low 80s but anything could happen... Anyway nice to see a fellow Coloradoan here! I'm thinking about going to the foothills this weekend I need a female bull for the locality project I'd like to start

That is awesome I live in the land as well! Sending you a email! There's alotta BPs and corns around here n some kings and don't get me wrong balls n corns are beautiful I have a few pairs of corns and I LOVE the kings but its so cool to find someone local with some taste haha. I've always had bulls in my group and owned pines and gophers at one time or another but I'm at a point where I wanna do some pituophis projects as well. Probably after I get my corns hatched its gonna be kinda sad but ima get rid of most of the corns I have to make room for more pits n kings. Its kinda funny more ppl aren't into pits they do get big but not python big and IMO they are just as pretty as any other animal. I know they like to flex and headbutt n I've had my fingers chewed up a time or 3 but once they get settled in they are gentle giants. They are very intelligent as far as snakes go and pretty curious or inquisitive (I hav a scorpion kinda by my sunglow boys cage that when its out hunting of fixing its cave he watches it he almost looks entertained haha) but I guess u just gotta have good taste haha.

Thank you very much! I would love to share some pics with you guys but I'm having some issues. I'm on some kinda Nokia window phone and I was told that is my problem so probably what I'm gunna try is getting a memory card and try to get somewhere to put stuff on a computer. I'm really excited about sharing so hopefully I'll figure it out soon😊
