Baby Corn Snake won't eat

Aggie1996 Jun 04, 2014 03:47 PM

Got this snake for my nephew. Would never eat for him.

Got him back - would eat live pinkies for me in a tupperware container. We have since moved, and I've moved him to work (work at a Nature Center). Now, he won't eat again (live).

At our old apartment, inside temp was around 72 - he had a heat lamp 8 - 10 hours a day. It was fairly dark elsewhere, but he always ate.

Here at work, its usually around 76-77; stil has the heat lamp, but shows no interest in eating.

Should I take him back home and give him the previous conditions?

TIA.

if he still looks and appears healthy, i wouldnt take him back home just yet.

i've always had great success with brained f/t pinks in a delicup for young corns. so maybe try that.

is there any change that has occured other than the slight change in temps? i dont think the temps would throw him off, but something like extra bright lights for long hours or seeing a lot of people (if it's on display) might stress it.

I've had the exact same problem! Except mine hasn't eaten on it's own once. We've tried live, dead, and (EWW.) cut up pinkies, but she hasn't shown any interest besides striking at our hands. We've had to resort to putting wax worms in her mouth to keep her alive (of which she doesn't even work to swallow...). Her siblings are growing and eating regularly and very well, (just like their mother, by the way

Did the hot chicken broth / pour over f/t pinkies / feed to snake in deli cup. Worked great! Has eaten 2 pinkies both times. You should try that.
