About a week ago I found this fellow dead on the road about a mile from home. If I had only been there a few minutes earlier!! What are the chances of him being born in the wild? vs. released or escapee?

Does it look too plump to be a wild cornsnake? I would bet escapee or release. I don't live in cornsnake range, nor am I very knowledgeable of cornsnakes in the wild. When I have seen pics of wild corns, they look thinner than most captive corns. Am I off base with this?

You're right. It was very well fed. It was at least a quarter of a mile from any homes.
