Pic of a mexican axanthic.

FR Jun 18, 2014 08:33 PM

I am sure shes gravid now. How does she look guys. If this works out and I do my work, this is the first Mexican axanthic to reproduce. Next year, I will have three females ready.

Of the three females, this is the darkest, by far. She was bred to a lite male axanthic. Next year, I hope to breed my lite axanthics. Its a bit exciting as I have no idea what will come from it. The axanthics were wild caught, so this is a prove out breeding. It would be crazy if they are normal. and they could be.

Nice looking critter. Out of curiosity, what are the major differences if any between a Mexican and Western Hogs? Is it just regional/locational or is there a physical and character difference?

Oh my god, you have to ask that. Google it up, easy to do. Its a matter of local and two scale types. One is clinal the other is not. The paper called them semi-species. Hey, don't yell at me, I didn"t write it.
On the otherhand, as would be expected from any animal that occurs a hundreds of miles apart. Westerns from the northeast part of their range, and kennerlyi from the southwest part of hognose range. They are indeed behaviorally unique.
Also, in the future, the names will be changing like crazy, so I would not let that bother you. No matter what names they have or will have, the snakes are exactly the same.

Give you a chance to man up and you act like a child. Is it any wonder people hate you FR?

Those are nice looking, Frank. I'm pretty sure your observation site for them is a good distance from the one frequented by a friend of mine, but I'm pretty sure he's found at least one axanthic there also. I'll have to give you a call before I get out that way again.
