About me and this forum, again

FR Jun 21, 2014 09:59 AM

Funny thing is, I intended to redo this, to help folks understand.
When I came here, I clearly stated, I am not here for the same reasons as most of you. I am here to learn about hognose, if anyone have information on them in captivity. I also explained, I am not interested in Rack system hognose(no offense to that) I am interested in information that is specific to hognose and their adaptions. No offense to anyone.
My interests have always been about the natural behaviors of snakes and lizards. And at times, how that translates to captivity. That approach has resulted in many world first captive breedings, and many common techniques used today.
About hognose, I am not interested in morph breeding particularly, or competing in the market. I will keep a few and do like morphs. I have a long history with many morphs of many species. Hogs, not so much.
I did luckily stumble onto a grip of Mexican axanthic hognose in the field and plan on establishing them in captivity, if I am so lucky. It was not my intention at the start, in fact the first wild individual I observed is still in nature. I simply took its pic and watched it crawl away. I cannot sell them, so if I am lucky enough to produce them, I will gift them. That is, unless Game and fish, somehow allow me to sell them, which is highly doubtful.
Arguments are odd here. People somehow think I should change my approach, knowledge or experience understanding, based on them or what they have done. As you can see, I won't allow that. Its not about them, they can do what they want. Its because our goals are totally different. They get mad because I am different. About all I can say to that is, good luck with that. What ever my differences are, they are served me well when working with reptiles. And that is what this place is about, working with HOGNOSE.
Many of you want to Add to what I do or something, its common to read, FR, you refuse to, this or that. Please understand, I have been doing this captive breeding for over 50 years, and have seen a lot. And hognose were bred in captivity, since before I was born. So to add to what I have experienced is, well its not going to be easy. If anyone had/has something that benefits me, I will credit you and thank you for it. And I have. pt 1

I understand, this forum is rack system based as our several other species forums. Ball pythons are a another example.
What you do is totally up to you. No one can force you or wants to force you. Its your choice.
The point is, you guys are the ones concerned with keeping them, so do it in anyway that you see fit.
To fight or argue with me is needless. Considering, fifty years of doing what your doing.
As stated, only a fool believes, in my opinion, we listen, and we try husbandry techniques if we are interested, Not believe anything because anyone, including me says something.
To argue is stupid. But fun. And those that know me, understand, I am all about fun. I can make fun out of about anything. And in lieu of important material/data on this forum, Fighting is about the only fun to be had. Why folks personally attack, well that's a personal problem they have.
I have stated one million times, I test in captivity, and I do so to learn. I do not use ONE type cage, never did. I utilize conditions to express certain behaviors. To dig, make a digging cage, to nest, offer a nesting cage, to breed, offer a breeder cage. To learn about anyone behavioral area, in a generalized cage, only expresses generalized information. That is common sense. The end, next will be husbandry stuff later.
