Help Identify this snake

KingDome Jun 25, 2014 08:55 PM

I know this is not a good picture. A friend of mine took this picture as it went across his yard into the woods. He lives in central Alabama. I told him it did not look indigenous to Alabama. Maybe someone's pet. Could you give me an idea what we are looking at. Thanks
DAVY

Yep, looks like some kind of Ratsnake. Don't know what types of Rats are indigenous to the central Alabama.

the lite ones are/were called white oak snakes, which is just a lite grey ratsnake. I have seen really really nice ones in southern Alabama. Spectacular snakes
