How long do you leave your white sided black rats together for when breeding. Six weeks ago I put my pair together and mating was observed. After two days I separated them and no sign of any eggs yet. Was I bit quick and should have left them together for longer. They are both first time breeders the female four years old the male three.

it may take 5 minutes ...it may take multiple breedings...it's up to the timing on the female.....if she is ready her body will store sperm...if she is not ready or temps are off...sperm may die or just pass out of her....
......breed ...every other day for weeks...you'll learn when they are done ....
