Baby Cal Kings

AaronBayer Jul 24, 2014 08:14 PM

My first clutch of the year started hatching a few days ago. Inyo County Male to generic amel female. 81 days at room temps from laying to hatching. All babies slit the eggs on their own within about 20 hours of each other. Very small clutch of only 5 eggs from a first time female. She gave me a 2nd clutch of 3 that are incubating now.

two of the babies have a cool "X" pattern on the back of their heads.

May be a small clutch, but they look hearty and healthy! Congrats.

Thanks!

They are healthy for sure. Biggest king babies I've ever had and all have thick full bellies.

I'm hoping my locality clutch that's due in a couple weeks looks as good.

I dig the head markings on the snake with the "circle X" on it. The dad is a black and white?

yeah, pops is my black and white Inyo county male and the female is a generic amel that I picked up (saved) from a pet smart a few years ago

I only put them together because for the longest time my Inyo female kept trying to eat the male. Eventually she chilled out and i have 13 eggs from her ready to pip pretty soon.
