Last of the Hogs for this season

mingdurga Aug 02, 2014 02:08 PM

These came from my female albino conda x male het albino conda.
3 normal condas, 1 albino, 1 albino super conda, and 1 normal super conda. The female was less than 2 years of age and weighed 150 grams before mating if you keep count on this.

The normal baby was from a female het albino x male evans hypo. Had a couple hatch out.

Also had some from the male het albino conda x female albino, but they were all hets with some normal condas het albino. Will try to cut down on all the "duds" next season, but glad I got babies from each female.

All the babies on keeper's choice. Seems to work out for their burrowing nature.

Enjoy the pix. Mike

what temp did you incubate your eggs at? did you happen to weigh them? if so what were the weights?

nice babies!

Temps in the mid to high seventies. Don't use incubators with colubrids. 5-7 grams for this group. Others probably the same.

Hey thanks for the info....did they hatch around the 65 to 75 days?

How do you hatch your eggs?

mingdurga Aug 03, 2014 06:47 AM

Superconda group hatched in 57 days. The previous batch went from 60 - 65 days. I have several empty tubs in a Freedom Breeder BP rack, but don't place eggs directly under heat. I use a temp. gun to check heat 2x weekly and it never goes over 78. I use the squamata S.I.M. Incubation Containers for all my eggs. No more mixing mediums.

This method works well for me, since my room has very low humidity.

Hey thanks for the info...it's always interesting to hear what others are using and working for them.

The lower temps seem to produce bigger babies....which I guess it's more of the yoke soaking up.

Have you ever noticed any mold on the eggs using your method?

I wont ask you anymore questions... thanks again.....
