Gregg, I absolutely agree with you....

.....it should be about hogs and not other stuff.

but you couldn't be further from the truth when you suggest FR hurts my feelings.
You just made me laugh so hard I spat my coffee out!
I could care less about his views.
I just wish the dialogues were about substance, and not these cheap debating tactics.
You can blame it on egos all you want, but EVERY breeder I communicate with - AND YES they do wish to remain un-named - says they keep clear of this forum, because of FR.
They also advise me to get the hell off the forum because people will view me negatively for being associated with this bull[bleep].
I was hoping to generate a counterbalance to his ongoing hijacking of every thread, but I guess I'm about to give up, because they are probably right.
I receive emails saying we appreciate your efforts, but it's a lost cause.
Your friend Troy has said exactly the same thing and has abandoned the forum and I would imagine he's spoken to you about it more fully.
You can try to distribute the blame equally, all you want, but it's complete crap.
FR scoffed at the idea that he could be so "powerful" and I'm sure he loves the attention.
But you know what? -
It's not difficult to ruin a forum if you have that sick need to do so. It's just as easy as ruining a movie by yelling while others are trying to watch - it doesn't make you powerful, it makes you inconsiderate.
Defend him all you want, bottom line is if this is what this forum has become, I'll follow everyone else's advice, including your friend Troy.
I'm not going to bring up stuff between you and me, because I like talking to you off the forum and I think we shouldn't let this bull[bleep] affect that.
Peace out, Bro and thanks for the morning comedy

I dont defend Frank. He is a big boy. What i do is respect Franks views and agree with a lot of what he says about husbandry. I also appreciate the fact that he has brought more to the table about hogs in the wild than anyone has on any forum.

What Frank says to you may not hurt your feelings but it does strike some nerve or you would not respond.

And I will not allow some forum crap to get inbetween you and I having a conversation and being cool. Like I have said, i like you. I just rhink you get too caufht up in pissing matches and it just looks silly.

If you could Gregg, explain that Jonny and I have no logical reason to agree. We use different methods and have different models, and don't even have the same snakes.(kennerlyi)
My model is nature, and my methods reflect that. When I think of a hognose, I think of them, as I see them in nature.

Not a snake in the classifieds or in someone elses cages.
All my thoughts are based on Hogs the ones in nature, what they do, how they do it, etc etc. Not about how anyone keeps and breeds them in conditions foreign to them.
The key is, they attempt to address their jealousy by making it about wrong or right. I do not care one bit how folks keep their animals. They are free to keep them anyway they like.
But nesting, You and I understand the importance of decent nesting. And I will fight that battle tooth and claw for however long it takes. As I am sure you will.
I have a feeling, caracal and nastiness are not actually concerned about hognose, its simply a battle of territory.

A battle of territory, no more, no less. Its obvious, they keep changing tactics, saying this and that, they going back to, they want me to leave or they will leave(childish behavior). Well, that stupidity may have worked on others, but I am not others. I will match their stupid games and raised them one. In the meantime, I will keep posting about hogs too.

Frank,
I do not think most people outside of monitor keepers really understand how critical proper nesting is for reptiles. It is not a subject that was widely talked about until recently outside of certain circles of keepers. The smarter keepers have caught onto the techniques. I have even suggestes it to some very good breeders who have tried it and love it. They have seen the difference it makes. Most however are stuck in their way and say things like they dont have time to do that. It is weird that many people can not grasp the very simple concept of offering better nesting options and how it improves health an reproductive longevity in our captives.

At a dinner in Daytona, a bunch of us including Steve Osborne, were talking herps and Steve stated that if gilas test dig, its too late. He got it. You mention that when snakes behave in that way, to test dig or frantic, its past time. Which is absolutely right.
I have no concept, idea, or any ability to understand why folks would not try to improve stressful nesting. To me, that is not about husbandry, its more. Its about insensitive people. I just do not understand it. Have a great night.
