Adopting a king snake

Viking_Rugby Aug 23, 2014 01:38 AM

First time on the forum so first I'd like to say hello to everyone. My name is Ethan and my family and I have decided to adopt a king snake after much deliberation. It came down to either a king sneaker a ball python. We found in our research that king snakes tended to be more docile and easier to take care of.

We went to the repticon show here in Houston and looked around quite a bit and weren't able to make it out the next day to go through with picking out a snake. I've looked online for any breeders near us and can't find any. Should we just wait until the next reptile show? I hesitate to order anything that has to be mailed. Thoughts?

You are much better off buying directly from a reputable breeder. Shipping is a simple procedure for good breeders. Ship it to your door in most cases. Only drawback is cost of shipping. Thus, you should probably buy a pair or three for the same shipping cost. Check out the Classifieds here on KS.
