I have a 6' long male black pine and every summer he goes into this mode where he won't eat rats, but goes insane if I give him baby chicks? Has anyone else seen this pattern. Is there any reason I shouldn't just go ahead and feed him chicks instead of rats? Thanks for any input.

pines looooooooooooooove chicks. they go nuts for them. some say that there may not be enough calcium in a steady diet of just chicks over a long haul. otherwise he may just enjoy a little variety. enjoy the show and black pines rule.
