New ball python owner

I recently bought a snake off of someone nearby, it's a baby, about 14 inches in length, He told me that she had eaten last Sunday, she is shedding right now and my question is, how long do I wait if her head and neck isn't shedding, it's been two days since i've had her and i dont know how long she had been shedding prior to that, when I got her she had the same amount of skin left on her head and neck. I am trying my best to do misting and keep the humidity high for her to shed but it doesn't seem like she is having any luck. I know that I shouldn't handle her due to the move from her last owner right?

I have found that soaking my snakes in a container filled with a few inches of warm water for a bit works nicely for stuck sheds. Not too deep as to force them to swim constantly, just enough so that they are covered.

I forgot to include in previous post that in my enclosure I have a small container containing about an inch of sphagnum moss that is moist (not soggy). I use the glad containers from Target (they are cheaper and easier to cut for me) and I have cut an opening approx. 2in. in diameter. I place them partially over my heat source as to create a little sauna type environment. I leave that in enclosure at all times, rewetting as needed. My snakes will hang out there when they get ready to shed. Usually get really good one piece sheds. Hope this helps.

Paper towels worked for me. Colubrids, BP's, etc. Just wet it in tepid water, squeeze out some excess, and place inside small covered enclosure with the snake. Put it inside larger container, just in case. Entire shed will come off in less than 2 hours average. mike
