Congratulations and they are beautiful blackheads but they don't look like western type blackheads. You may want to check back with the people that sold you them as western type. Again very pretty snakes though.
Thanks for the kind words. They are definitely westerns though. I have both kinds and the difference is huge, plus I know the lineage on all of them. My camera just makes them look darker, but the female doesnt even have any black on her except for her head. She is amazing but unfortunately my camera and skills are not lol.
thanks
Will
Now that look at it I accidentally posted a picture of my male northern. The female picture s correct though, she is a known lineage western and a really nice one at that. My camera just doenst show how orange she really is.

Hey Will, where are you from?
The fact that you say you female doesn't have any black in her bands (and judging by your pictures) tells me she's not a "western" (or at least the part of western australia that warrants a difference in species type). You can and do see some reddish type animals in North West Australia...getting close to the Northern Territory Boarder (And if you do live in Aussie then I apologize as you guys have access to animals we don't have in the US...such as red westerns) but, the animals that warrant being different enough from the rest of the country in Western Australia are from the Pilbara areas...80 mile beach, Sandfire, Port Headland, Little Sandy desert, etc
Those animals are smaller in size and are a cream/white and chocolate/black bands (closer to the picture of the male you posted)
Here's an example....

Nice animals though. They a great species.
