Odd color and jet black eyes..

Gregg_M_Madden Nov 17, 2014 08:52 PM

I have this really cool female. He has an odd lavender color to her and jet black eyes. She will be paired up with my JMG axanthic male this season. I think she is a good fit for the project. Anyway, here she is....

Nice. What are the genetics of that female and what do you hope to reveal with that pairing.
I am still attempting to understand a type of brown in hogs, that appears to not be a product of red or yellow and black.
Also, has anyone crossed the recessive axanthics to the co dom axanthics? What resulted? Thanks Gregg.

Hey Frank,
This particular female is 100% het for albino and 100% het for Evans amel A.K.A hypo. Nothing spectacular.

The co-dominant axanthic is still very new to the "public". They were only released this year. I attempted to breed my male co-dom axanthic to a female recessive axanthic. I observed copulation but no eggs resulted in the pairing. I was late in the season. Hopefully this season I will produce co-dom axanthics het for recessive azanthic.

Strange looking little guy.

A jmg axanthic/recessive axanthic combo would be cool.
Good luck on that project.

What do you think it would do or come out like. wouldn't it be the same. Only it may not allow that black and white form? Or just hoping to express the unknown, which is a great reason.
To me, its another testing of the magic brown.
