Perspective Monitor Owner

Recently returned to herping. I built a 7ish x 2 x2 cage newly built and ready to go. It can me closed in the middle for two 42"x2x2 cages or one big one. My question is this. Are there any monitor species that I could keep in this cage? Even if only for a few years until I built out a really large one?

I am at sort of a cross road. Now that I am getting back in, I am not sure if I want to do snakes again or get into something new (to me). With the Hamburg reptile show on Saturday I may have a chance to pick something up but I am on the fence.

I appreciate any and all responses no matter how brutal, lol. I once was a very experienced keeper and breeder of Indigos, carpets and Irian jayas. So I am by no means a newb.

You could keep Ackies or another small dwarf monitor in there. Not really ideal but it could work with smaller monitors until you build one more suited to a monitor.
