Green Anole...

tiggere Jan 15, 2015 08:00 AM

Little advice please...currently have a single male green anole in an 11 gal upright terrarium...he started out the first few months being green and eating two/three crickets a day...then he suddenly stopped...he has been brown most of the time since he stopped eating...his enclosure temp has been a little low but that has been corrected for the a few days and he is eating a single cricket every couple days (wont touch a meal worm)...this morning I get up and there is a shed in the shape of his face on the floor but it doesnt look like his body is shedding...he started dewlapping at me one day and I thought he might be seeing his reflection so I put green paper on the glass to stop the reflection...didnt seem to help...could the shedding be why he has been not eating and staying brown?

Setup...
50 watt blue bulb
Reptisun 5.0 UVB
75 watt black heat bulb
60 watt ceramic heater

I have a timer but the hose is old and doesnt have a three prong wall outlet...so I am doing the lighting manually...

maybe the reason could be from the sudden drop in temperature or he needs a mate. keep me updated if poss. reptilelover100
