How The Years Pass * HOOTY

Eve Jan 26, 2015 01:54 PM

YO.... hey guys been awhile for sure. I think I stopped posting soon after hanging up my moderator uniform. Have not been around much , slipped on ice a couple seasons ago and hurt my back/neck. Past year I have had vertigo and been hard to mess around on the computer much.

Anyway I may be a bit on the dizzy side, lol, but still have all my critters surrounding me.

Wanted to update all my old forum pals about Hooty ( you remember the lil girl chuck BJ sent.... was going to FREEZE because his incubator was accidently unplugged and she was the only egg that hatched. (With severe disabilities) Geesh I just re-read that old thread,,, Tom, Johnee, BJ and DVL you were all talking mean( freezing lil babies) :0( but I loved ya all, lmao.

WELL Hooty is 13 years old this year 2015. She may not appear to be a beauty queen, but has a beautiful fighting spirit, a very classy lady, unless you watch her eat banana's. Hehhehee, She's pretty darn awesome, and can move pretty quick when hungry, :0) One little chuck girl that was meant to be in this world.
PS. If you happen to see this BJ (I did not think you would freeze her) lol

Hope your all doing great, miss ya, Have a Happy New Year :0)

Hooty 13 yrs. old

Hootie looks fabulous! Wow! 13!

I have a house full, as usual. lol!

Sorry to hear of your troubles, Eve, but very glad you are still around. How are the geckos?

:0) Hey Donna thank you, glad to hear from you too! I think we will always have a full house of critters right till we leave for HEAVEN. Then I sure hope we get put in charge of all the animals, hehehehhee, lol.

I will have to email you and talk some more. I have been wondering how you and your crew have been. So here's to talking real soon and catching up and everything, :0)

Hooty is having her B- day party late fall this year, it is amazing how some of these kids thrive even though handicapped. I don't think she really knows any thing else since she was born that way. Take care talk soon.

PS. collareds, chucks, clown agama, spinys,,, and the GECKOS all doing well, thanks for asking.

Hey Tom, I'm tickled pink to hear from y a buddy, hahahaha :0) I'm a part of the reptile community, lol, I just did a lot of homing on some other sites, lol. Just been missing from KS forums.

My Grebster was asking for ya, lol, he's looking BIG and burly and quite handsome. Also getting up there in age. He's such a gentlemen he lives with Miss Hooty and sometimes it is difficult for him to control his LOVE emotions for her, hhhahahaa but he does somehow, seems to understand and stops himself (such a GOOD BOY.) Maybe one day I will get him a breed able sexy female to show my respect to him for treating Hooty so gently.
I love the granites/reds/ and Pied. Maybe down the road I will have a couple pairs.

So how the hell have you been buddy? Kids all grown yet? Still have lots of chucks?

I miss you all, gosh I used to be on KS 10 times a day, lol. Moderating and watching the classifieds. Now I never look as I have my own to sell, hhaahhha.

Hey good to hear back Tom, glad ya posted, I will try and pop in more , see what's up.

Holy cow...funny how we all pop in every once in a while. I was just thinking about the chuck and collared group the other day. We really kept it alive a few years back, eh?

I'm still traveling for a Bioprocess sales job so no time for pets anymore. I did gain an interest in growing orchids but those are pretty simple compared to lizards.

I hope everyone is well!

Hey gang! First of all, GREAT to read your posts. I sure miss you all! But, nobody really addressed the question of back leg paralysis for the gentleman! I had a grown granite Chuck five years back or so. He was rambunctious and healthy until one day...he wasn't. I came home from work to find him dragging his back legs. I had had him for years, but he was wild caught. The vet could find nothing wrong with him, but his anus was prolapsed. It could have been a virus or whatever, but the prolapse was the cincher. The vet recommended putting him down and I agreed. The necropsy turned up nothing but no blood work had been done. I have had several Chucks with bladder stones removed in the past year. None of them had any back leg involvement and some of those bladder stones were huge! I recommend finding out if the Calico does have a spinal injury first, before the stone removal. If antibiotics don't relieve the pressure due to swelling (?) on the spine, I think dying of constipation would be pretty hard to bear for the human and the lizard to go through that!
