FRIGID FEMALE

mblons Mar 02, 2015 07:37 PM

I have a huge, beautiful albino conda female. I have introduced three males to her and she does not seem receptive at all. She will twitch a couple of times but does not behave like other females I have who have readily bred. Any tricks or possible reasons for her disinterest?

The females have to cycle first, this emits hormones, which causes her to cloacal gape(become receptive) In most species, the female will also emit pheromones which attracts males.
In nature, the male will attend the female, which is stay next to her for long periods of time, and wait until she becomes receptive.
In captivity its that easy leave the male in with her until she is ready.
also, not all females reproduce every year, its not automatic. Same for nature. Best wishes.
With other species, big fat females do tend to not reproduce as well(regularly) as smaller females. Best wishes
