lumps on boa spine

simias Mar 11, 2015 11:24 AM

I've had a male Crawl Cay dwarf boa for 7 years, and he's a beautiful, gentle animal and excellent feeder. About a year ago he began developing lumps, of which there are now 2 large and 1 small, located in a line along the midline of his back. They feel semi-solid to the touch and can be moved around a bit. They don't (yet) have any effect on his health and well-being other than cosmetic. Before I take him to a vet, has anyone seen anything like this?

Can't get my photo of it to upload, but it's just large bulges under his skin along the spine.

thanks

I'm not sure, but it could be like fatty tumors on a dog. With them having stayed so long, it is unlikely absess, but it could be cysts or sores.

I hope he gets better soon!
