I have a clutch in the incubator for 26 days; still a way to go before hatching. A few eggs have already begun to dent. This seems a bit early. My previous clutches didn't start to dent until about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks before hatching. Any information, advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,
JMo

Your humidity is not high enough. How high is your humidity? What substrate do you have the eggs on?

Craig - thanks for the reply. I'm using hatch-rite as a substrate. I'm not sure of the actual humidity but the egg container covers are loaded with moisture when I check them.
I've used hatch-rite successfully prior for a number of breeding sesasons now and have always had significant moisture on the egg container covers prior, so I'm not sure what the problem is now. Nothing is different from previous incubations.

Candle them and make sure the collapsing ones even have veins. Sometimes good looking eggs aren't alive and those will collapse no matter what. Good to know so you don't over water trying to save bad eggs and end up killing the good ones.
