Trip, my awesome boy, got his third leg today to complete his CDX title with a 190 and 2nd place in the class! He was thrilled that he won a toy, too, which we picked a frizbee (his favorite). His first two legs were with scores of 189.5 and a 184.
Then we showed in Grad Novice and he got his third leg in that for his GN title with a 186 and a 3rd place plus $10 cash. I took the $10 and bought raffle tickets for the club's raffle. We won a PH sized metal suitcase crate AND dog first aid kit plus some dog toys & treats! Wow, was that the best $10 PRIZE I've even won!
After that we went to Wendy's for Trip's plain cheeseburger and mom's Frosty - we were both very happy!!!
Next we'll have to decide if we are up for the UD challenge or just want to keep doing more agility.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! Rory and I are very jealous -- okay, I'M jealous, Rory says obedience is stupid and running around is way more fun! The titles are impressive enough, but those scores are GREAT too!!!!!

I vote that you continue on with the UD -- either that, or you have to start on Tru and have her catch up to her big brother!!

Congratulations -- can't wait to see you and all the kids at Nationals!!!

I don't think it's the cheeseburger, but string cheese is his favorite training treat He could be the posted child for "Will Work For Food". Trip loves training and learning things. It's usually mom's nerves that can kill us in the ring.
Healing will never be his strong point - he is always with me but doesn't see why he needs to be right at my side.
Go for that CD those of you working on it. Once you get that behind you, the CDX work is much more fun than the boring CD exercises.

I rarely check on DogHobbyist any more, but I'm so glad I did today. CONGRATULATIONS to you and Trip!!! Absolutely awesome achievement for you both!! How many PHs can say they've gotten a CDX? Not many, I'll bet. Haven't you put a CDX on at least one other PH?

LOL Same for my Nadia -- she just won't snug up beside me. 6-12" is her comfort zone.

I'm encouraged to hear that, Sheila. Last weekend Nadia & I finished our CD, in 3 straight Q's, with two 1st & a 2nd. Now the debate is whether to try for that CDX. Your success is inspiring.

I'm glad you checked, too, Sarah! Trip is my third PH CDX. Madam was my first and then Tawny. Trip is my first boy to get one. All of them like the open work more than novice. Even judges have commented that they get more and more up as we go into the retrieving and jumping exercises. With that kind of success for your CD with Nadia, you definitely need to go for her CDX. Congrats to you!
