TPLO for torn ligament

IceePups Jul 07, 2011 09:10 AM

My 4 year old doberman, Marino, is suffering from a torn cruciate ligament and the vet says he needs TPLO, which, she says can help Marino regain the full use of his leg. I'm really apprehensive for my dog and the upcoming surgery.

Please do share with me any experience with TPLO. Thanks:D

I understand your concerns. Anesthesia is always a concern. I am sure you have read articles on the procedure and you know your dog.

Just take a deep breath and have faith in your dog and vet.

Let us know how things go.

After going through different websites reading about TPLO, I now have an understanding of Marino's condition and what we have to go through after surgery. Surgery is scheduled this Wednesday and I hope everything will turn out fine.

I have already downloaded a free home rehab guide for TPLO from www.tploguide.com to help me with the rehab procedures after surgery.

My friend's dog has a torn ligament before and the healing process was a long one. Ligaments are hard to heal than bones.
