Good visit for Beni...

Shboom Oct 23, 2011 11:02 PM

This past Thursday I took Beni for an optho recheck at Cornell. This was his first 3 month visit... the longest time we had gone between rechecks. As noted before Beni has remained very stable with his glaucoma management over the years but it was a catarct that matured that has robbed his sight. As for the examination it went very well. There was nothing showing on either cornea from the staining and he once again he did well on the tear test. Best of all the most important reading was the 10 they got from the pressure test. Upon examination the tube to the glaucoma valve remains clear and obviously is still working. This is his second valve implant and has lasted over three years. His first one lasted just over 9 months. As a result from this visit I scheduled another one in 3 months but will remain diligent with my monitoring of his eyes.

Bob, it's always so good to hear that Beni is doing well. And, it's nice that you don't have to go so frequently for checkups!

Are you going to do your wonderful jack-o-lanterns again, this year?

Yay Beni! Keep up the great work Bob! And, Beni!

It's so sad that my Abby is blind. I miss her playfulness when she was younger and could see. But she's still as beautiful as ever! I am very happy that her eyes are doing ok. We didn't have them removed, or didn't get implants. So, she still has both eyes. One has troubles every once in a while, it gets red because blood fills it up or something. But, thankfully it's under control. I LOVE her eyes!

It is sad that Abby is blind, but she is happy to be in such a loving home, I'm sure. Does she do pretty well in her yard?

Yes, she does pretty well. Still tries to chase bunnies! She has run into the fence a time or two
