We are getting a new cat.
Not just any old cat, but a Chinese curse type cat, as in "May your life be interesting".
I've put a deposit down on a Bengal kitten.
We'll be picking her up at the beginning of May.

Mojo grew up around a cat, our old tabby Cricket, who was here before we got Mojo.
The boys got along pretty well, as Cricket was more the boss in that relationship.
Just before Cricket passed away, we took in Puff, because my mom was moving to Florida and she needed a new home.
Puff was about 12 at the time and lived with us for 5 years. Adjusting to Mojo took her some time, as she needed to learn how to not act like prey.
Hissing and running got Mojo riled up and Puff lost patches of fur until she learned to stand her ground.

The bengal cat...she might make MOJO have to learn to stand his ground, lol.
We'll have her crated as a kitten when we aren't able to supervise.

I'm not going to let him interact with her right away as a precaution.
Any other thoughts from anyone who's introduced a kitten into their home?

WHOAAA Mo!!!! I'm not up much on cats so I had to check out The International Bengal Cat Society website to see what they are about. What a gorgeous looking coat those cats can have!

From what I read they seem to make wonderful pets but are highly active for most of the day. How old is Mojo now? I'm sure he'll adapt to a new addition and it's probably better that this will be a kitten when she arrives as she too will have to learn to adapt. I haven't had a kitten in the house in close to 20 years after Boo passed away a couple of years ago. I would suggest taking a stroll over to the cat forum and see what they have to meow about. Now Mo.... you have to promise to post some picts when you get this cat. Any idea what type of coat the cat will have? They are all stunning!

She's going to take after her dad in looks, I think, maybe a little darker. Definitely has his head and body shape.

Mojo is coming up on 7 years old. I do think they'll adapt, I'm just worried a bit about Pyewacket being small to start with. Makes her look more like prey.

Not worried about Risa. That lab loves everybody.

I've never had a kitten, so I can't offer any advice, but good luck--and let us know how things go! And post photos. . .

Will do! Pics will be incoming. It's going to be a long month waiting for her though.
