This past week marked Beni's 9th gotcha day with me. I have to say it's been an interesting 9 years what with everything that has happened with him. Though he is now over 14½ years old and has physically slowed down some... his spirit remains young at heart. It still brings a smile when I have him outside and call his name and watch him start high stepping toward my voice.
When it comes time for his eye drop medication there are times he becomes a little crotchity but at his age he has earned the right. As Dr. Kern reminded me he is a Shiba afterall and has tolerated his medications longer than any other Shiba he has treated.
