I am fed up with commercial dog food, and I have a 5-month old Golden Lab puppy. Does anyone have any good resources on making your own food at home for them? Like the ratio of starch to protein to veggies?

I have never tried making homemade dog food, but it does sound like good idea.

Also might not be a bad idea to check with your vet before doing a drastic food change.

I agree with checking with your vet first and they too may be better able to answer your questions. I have never done it myself but another member of the Shiba board was making her own food and it sounded pretty complicated to get the ratios correct.
