All my Koi & Catfish died over the winter in Airated ponds. Goldfish suvived. Help

Can anyone offer cause of death to all catfish & Koi, not goldfish in same airated ponds over the winter. Some of the dead fish were very large (3to4lb.)They all survived two previous winters.
