Goldfish is mutating.

All of them started as "feeders." What I though was the most attractive one was white with a large red (BRIGHT RED) area on the head and a smaller one near the tail. Developed a long flowing caudal fin.
NOW...a couple weeks ago I thought he was getting sick. Looked AWFUL. Not acting strange, just LOOKING awful. All blotchy.
He has now just about lost all the red. Looks like an albino but has regular eyes. Reminds me of a fish in the fish market case.
And the dorsal fin has grown into a SAIL.
Now it's a white fish with flowing caudal and tall dorsal and looks really funny. Eats well and swims fine.
Wonder if the color will ever return.
The weather is VERY hot here. Water has to be in the 80's at all times.
??????????

Goldfish do tend to change color. One of mine was silver and black for the longest time and then started changing and ended up solid orange. During the change process he looked like he had eyebrows and a mustache so I named him Groucho.
