Preformed Ponds?

blueeyes25 Aug 18, 2005 03:34 PM

Has anyone ever tried to put a preformed pond into the floor of a deck? I know it sounds strange, but that is the idea my husband came up with.

Also, if we do build it either on the deck or into the deck, the deck will be covered. Do you think that it will be too shady for the water lilies and other aquatic plants to grow?

I'm trying to make it as convenient as possible for us to get to and be able to look at as well.

What depth of preformed pond would you suggest for about 20-30 pond comets?

I'm just a little confused at this point...

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

hi i reall dont have an answer for the fish part but any preformed pond must be at least 3/4 of the way supported or it will break and also you will have to realize that 1 gallon in a pond is about 12-15 lbs

nick
