Gold Fish coloring

whitespider Sep 17, 2005 04:16 PM

I've noticed that gold fish change. Sometimes I like it, like when I had a dingy colored one turn completely pure white, it's pretty. But some of my other ones are starting to loose their designs like stripes and spots. I don't want to loose them since that's the reason I picked them, lol. So my question is, what will help them keep their coloring and designs? Better light? Certain vegitables/fruits? Thanks for your help. And thank you Oranda for the tip on the elodea plant, I'll check it out soon.

I'm afraid its down mainly to genetics what the fish look like and all you can do is feed colour enhancing food, but goldies change colour and shades all through their lives.
