Hello
I am new to keeping fishes etc. i am in melbourne australia but i couldnt find a good help resource.

Anyway, i am setting up a small pond in my back yard about 1.5meters x 1.5meters and a depth of about 30cm.

I was thinking of having a few gold fish and some feeder fish.
I was going to put 1 underwater pot plant and a water lilly or 2.

My QUESTION is do i still need a filter or a pump?? wont the plans generate enough oxygen.
also can u tell me what the difference between a pump and a filter is.

thanks, your help will be very much appreciated.

it would be best to get a air pump as you have a warm climate.
yes you should get a filter if you want to see your fish. the pump pumps water to the filter witch with its sponges cleans the water. it would be best to leave your filter running for a couple of weeks for it to mature.
good luck with your fish.
