Is my fish suffering

dani31-10 Mar 13, 2006 05:38 AM

I have 2 goldfish, kept in a tank not a pond. They are both roughly 10 years old. About 4 years ago one of them changed from orange to white/silver and his eyes clouded over as if he was blind. My local aquatics shop told me that this was due to old age and that there was nothing I could do. The fish is still alive and feeding well.
About 1 year ago the other goldfish developed a 3 white growths - 2 on its body and 1 on its eye. I treated it with and internal antibacteria treatment as recommended by my local petshop. This however did nothing and the growth on the eye continues to get bigger. Yesterday I noticed that the growth is turning black/purple which I fear is blood. The other eye is fine and he continues to feed well.
I have been told by my friends (who know nothing about fish) that the kindest thing to do is euthanise it, but being an animal lover I keep refusing.
Do you think that my goldfish are suffering? Do you think there is a cure? I do have pictures but dont know how to get them on here. I will quite happily email them to you if you think you may be able to help me. I am desperate, I just dont know what to do. Please help

As to whether or not it is suffering i wouldnt know..but i know 2 ways to humanely kill a fish, first option is to put the fish in a container with some water and put a bunch of alkaseltzer tablets in it...this will cause quick afixiation due to the carbon dioxide from the tablets, the second option is to freeze the fish.. put the fish in a container in some water and add a couple ice cubes, then put the container in the freezer. Good luck with whatever you choose to do

Here's where the elemental shaman finds a real dilemma WOW Gold. The Protective Barricade of the Light is a mere ilevel 200, and ideally, you want to grab something better Buy WOW Gold. There's one other shield you can grab pre-raid, and that's the Protector of Frigid Souls out of normal Pit of Saron WOW Power Leveling. The good news is that it's a noticable upgrade over any other shield you can find outside of a raid. The bad news is that it comes loaded with MP5. Oh,Buy Aion Gold and the fact that the only people who seem to run normal Pit of Saron these days are paladins and shaman looking for that very same shield kinda messes with your odds a bit Aion Leveling. When it comes down to it, unless you're going to be off-spec resto, there's no reason for an elemental shaman to waste the time.
