keeping dogs out

lova54 Mar 06, 2007 01:30 PM

I would love to build a pond. We live on a farm and have plenty of room. We have a yellow lab that loves water. How can I keep him out of the pond, or am I wasting my time? There must be some way. I think a fence, other than an electric one would look out of place in the middle of a large yard. Any photos or ideas?

Hello there,...
My front yard pond was plagued with ROGUE dogs that would wander around and come in for a cool dip.. I was left with freaked out fish, mucked up water and crunched marginals and lillies.

I installed a fido shock fence and NOT A SINGLE return after they were zapped !!!

I built a pond for a neighbor and her chow chow was doing the same thing. I let her borrow the fence. 2 shocks later-- the dog won't even go near the area !!!! If a ball is thrown there--- it's left....the fence was installed for several months and now is removed. The chow remembers but does not know it's gone.
