Foamy water in new pond

WhisperingWind May 22, 2007 08:08 AM

I just turned on the pump on my new pond yesterday morning, and right away the stream became filled with sudsy looking foam. A day later, it seems to have dissipated a little bit, yet it persists under the waterfall. What is causing this, and will it go away on its own? With no fish in the pond, surely it can't be organic.

Foamy water you'll always see during first few days, foam means
your water is getting some nitrates-bacteries. it takes maybe 2weeks your filter will get right conditions to work biologicaly.

I have the same issue and it goes away after a few days once the pump has run for a couple of days. I think it may have something to do when I stop the pump and clean out the filter.
Foam in the Water Dont worry
