been searching all over the web and i cannot find anything on hyena care. if anyone could give me some info it would be appriciated. i'm not getting anything soon but i would still like to know.

It all depends on the species of hyena. Spotted hyena? Striped hyena? Brown hyena? Aardwolf? I've seen spotted hyenas, striped hyenas, and aardwolfs in the pet trade, but never brown hyenas. I'm guessing you are talking about Spotted Hyenas. First off, this is not a good pet to keep in the house if you have trouble with the animal marking. They will excrete an oily yellow substance around their territory, and will get on your walls, floors, furniture, etc. They will also scratch at the floor to mark their scent. It is best to keep them in a large enclosure of 20' x 24'. If you are to keep a hyena outside, I recomend getting more than one, as they are social animals. If you want to keep it as a house pet, although I do not recomend this, you can keep just one, but you better be home 99% of the time! Hyenas will eat almost anything, so you must be careful. They will eat cans, wire, glass, etc if they can get their paws on it, so you must be very careful to keep them away from anything dangerous. Keep your hyena well fed, or you will be saying goodbye to your couch, shoes, and houseplants. I recomend a diet of raw bison meat/bones/organs. Supplement their diet with a calcium powder. If you can get your hands on it, horse meat is an excellent staple as well. I recomend feeding fish and beef as well, but a staple should be bison or horse meat. Remember, hyenas can be dangerous. They are not an ideal pet. Hyenas can very easily kill a cape buffalo, so they would have no problem attacking and killing a human.
