I was wondering if anyone here imports exotic mammals. Ever since I was a young kid I have been fascinated by importing, exporting, keeping exotics, catching wild animals, the husbandry of "strange" pets, facilities, bottle raising animals, etc. I would love to hear stories of someone who has years of experience with importing exotic mammals. Thank you.

Importing exotic mammals isn't easy...I never did it myself but at the very minimal, you need an import license. You also need to know the laws governing importing and selling exotic mammals in your area and everywhere you wish to sell to. (though buyers should be aware of their local laws but many are not).

Then there are CITES concerns and permits as well. Getting in contact with exporters of exotic animals etc. I suggest you do alot of research, searches online definitely can lead to a load of information about the regulations involved. Talking to your local department of Fish and Wildlife (or Hunting/trapping regulations)will also be of benefit.
