Has anyone ever had a guinea pig change color? Specifically from being black and white to being speckled with gray?

I haven't. How old is the cavy? Some animals do get grey as they age...though from what you describe, seems pretty extensive. Have you taken him to a vet? There may be some ailments that could affect the pigmentation of their hair. I don't know of any off hand myself but definitely won't hurt getting him a checkup.
