is this serious a serious problem?

Hi, I have had my 2 ferrets for almost a year, and i am not sure if they are sick, and need to go to their vet. Both of them have had slightly orange colored skin with small reddish dots on their tails for a while, but it did'nt seem to bother them or otch. But now they have the 'rash' on a few places on their bodies, and are losing hair around the effected areas. I don't know what is wrong, i have read several books and i still can't find anything. Does anyone have any idea what this could be, and should i take them to the vet?

do you have other pets in the house because this might just be a flea problem. if you look on your ferret you should be able to see if they have fleas easy if they are albino if they are sable or brown in color then you might have a harder time.

My cats and dogs have had fleas, but i haven't seen any fleas or flea dirt on either of them. I don't thinkmits fleas, but im going to check again.

Do you give them baths? Maybe a soap allergy or too many baths drying out her skin.If you dont bathe them then maybe the ferret got into something that is irritating her skin.Food allergies can cause this too as well as fleas of course.
