Indoor rabbit to outdoor?

Jules353 Jan 11, 2008 11:13 PM

I am thinking about getting a rabbit soon. I have had them in the past but they were always in hutches outside with running pens outside. I live in a rental house that doesn't have a fenced in backyard and I am nervous to use a hutch for my new rabbit. However, in about 1-2 years I will have a new house that I plan on using a hutch and pen with. If I get a rabbit now and keep it inside for 1-2 years would it be hard for it to adjust if I move it outside? Thanks!

I wouldn't think so. Just for awhile before you permantely move it outdoors, keep him outside during the day and inside at night so it can adjust, and then keep it outdoors permanetly. Also would be better not to do this in the heat of the summer. I successfully did this with an Eastern Cottontail.
