Hello, just recently got a Hamster from Craigslist, in great shape. Usually most of them become feeders (at least on that site), but I figured well, I have the time, may as well save this one. The person just couldn't have it anymore. Full grown or almost.

He likes to bite on his plastic tubing (you know the kind they climb in etc). Is that bad for them?

I know they need things to chew on so their teeth do not grow too long.

If anyone has any recommendations of Long term things that will last a while that he'd chew on, please let me know.

I have read using used Tissue boxes, or toilet paper rolls. But have also heard some of them can be harmful.

Seems some of the "chew" toys don't last very long.

Some hamsters will knaw on cages regardless, but it is usually because they don't have chew toys.

I reconmend some type of wood, mineral chew, or a healthier toy and leave in cage and replace often.

Hopefully he will start chewing on them instead!
My dwarf took very quick to them.
