Caught a mouse that was being attacked

PimpUigi Dec 15, 2008 06:56 PM

by a cat.

Has a cut right above it's tail, other than that, seems to be fine, just scared.
I know even though it seems to be fine, it's probably going to die.

What do I do to save it???
It's pretty young.
But doesn't look like it's an infant.

What food should I give it?
I only have paper towels to give it for bedding for now...but that's probably not enough, should I give it a shirt or something to lay in?

Seems happy and fine now.
But won't eat anything...

Had a heating pad, bedding, etc.
Won't drink water, or eat oats.

Tried water on a Q tip.
Doesn't seem interested, runs away.

Mouse is comfortable with my hands, and will climb on them, and lay in my palm.
I think it knows I saved it from the Cat.

Still, won't eat anything.

I think it's two weeks old.

Actually I think it's three weeks old, since it's eyes are open and everything.

Going to try oats soaked with Esbilac.

I gave it a few choices of things to eat.
During the night, it ate Cheerios in water.

This is nice, since it's eating.
I wish I could take it to a vet for antibiotics...but I can't.

So the best thing I can do is make sure it's as comfortable as possible.

The mouse died on January 17th

Not bad, kept it alive for a month of extra life.
It was my best friend : (
