I don't want to know if you think it's bad nor do I care. I just want to know if you have used it and if you have had any problems. It's real hard to believe its bad or if it's not. Half of the websites I go to say its okay to use and then the other half say its not. And on petsmart.com they have a pine bedding and on the reviews of it like 14 out of 16 say its great and they have never had any problems and only 2 say you shouldn't use it. So I don't know who to believe. I already have a bad of PetsPick Pine bought. I think i'll just use it till its gone and then buy aspen from now on.

since you intend to use it no matter what we say, whats the point of asking if anybody had problems?

The problem with pine is the oils which are toxic. It irritates the lungs and liver of rodents and in the end makes them more susceptible to illness and shortens their life span. Rodents raised on aspen or other non pine/cedar beddings have proven to live longer and healthier lives.

I use kiln dried pine shavings but my rats are not strictly pets and I find aspen is far too over priced around here to be worth using. Carefresh is just too dusty.

If your mice are pets you want to live long and healthy lives, definitely switch to aspen when your pine is all used up.
