i just got a male rat as a comapanion for the female i have.
the female keeps attacking it but it doesnt seem to bite at least. the new male doesnt do anything though. will this continue to go on or will they get used to each other. i can always return it within 2 weeks. thank you

it can take awhile for rats to get used to eachother. I also hope you realize by getting a male companion for you female rat, there is a very good chance she will become pregnant and have a litter of babies. Unless she's quite old, it will happen within a few months, or less.
