I have recently bought a 5 gallon tank just for fun. I was wondering if having about 4 rasbora hetero. and 2 cory cats would be too much?

Yes, and since the rasboras are schooling fish you shouldn't go with less than 4 of them. I would say probably stick to the fish that don't need plenty of room to swim and non schooling fish.
