Is this a stupid idea?

So I was talking to a friend of mine who also keeps fish. I was telling him I hope my tank is doing alright because we just got hit with some nasty heat and the room my tank is in can get very warm.

My friend told me he had the same problem and that i should try "fish cubes". He explained to me that whenever it gets really warm out, he fills up an ice cube try full of dechlorinated water and freezes it. Then a couple times a day he sticks some of the ice cubes into his filter and lets it push the cool water around his tank. He swears it works.

I wasnt sure if what he does is pointless, or genius. What do you think??

I used to do that for my newt, but it only works for a little while. The tank will still be hot overall.

LMAO i have never heard of that but depending on what fish u have they tend to be pretty adaptive to higher temps for a short amount of time as long as it isnt hitting like 86 and up u should be alright. again this depends on what type of fish u have!!!
