Anyone heard of a fish called....

icedearthgoddess May 05, 2010 02:24 AM

A "bait" or "bate" fish??? The term used in this text means: a fish that is active and swims in open, free space, and coaxes timid fish to come out of hiding. The "bait/bate" fish acts as a "warning sign" and if this fish is out and about, the coast is free and clear of anything to be afraid of.

I cannot remember where I read this, what type it might pertain to, except that I want to say it was a fish that does well in the Community/Non-aggressive aquariums.

I am sorry if there is not enough info, but that is all I remember. I am not sure if it was in a magazine, but guess that is was. Thanks.

I haven't heard of that in anything I've read or seen on tv. It seems there may be a need for a fish like that in nature, but I haven't ever heard of anything like that.
