just a lil advice for sick fish

izzy123 Mar 26, 2008 11:26 PM

I just thought I would give a lil advice on ick I tried lots of stuff for ick that didnt work quick cure works some of the time if you want your tank to turn blue the lining the rock statues so on and so forth and you might loss a few fish but the best thing I found so far is aqurium salt you still take the same chance with loss of fish but you have to think of this if you dont do something there dead any way. here is the thing you just add the salt as directed on the box and wait for the ick to go threw its life span ( other words the part where it can be killed)the salt kills it and the fish seem to love the salt I hope this helps I went threw alot just to find out a box of salt works....lol

P.S. none of my fish died but if they have ick bad they might oh and this is for freshwater fish

Actually a lot of freshwater fish need salt anyway...In the wild, even freshwater has salt and other minerals in it. Plus the salt actually helps their protective slime coat on the fishes body...that's why it's good for ich. The slime is a barrier.
