Hi,
I have a new aquarium. It's a 29 gallon freshwater and I'm cycling it with 3 Platies. I have had it 9 days and so far nothing is happening. Ammonia is staying at 0.5, 0 Nitrites and 10 Nitrates. Guess I just have to be patient, but I am new to this. I'm feeding them lightly once a day. When should I see something happen that lets me know it's cycling?

Hi.
Yeah, you'll have to be patient, as it usually takes 4-6 weeks for a tank to cycle fully. Of course, it can take longer if you don't wait the whole time or something else happens. Below is a link on what should happen and the proper cycling process. Seems to me you are doing everything right, so... things should happen for you before you know it.

One more question....should I do any water changes during the time the tank is cycling? Thanks for your help!

If your ammonia is high, and your fish are showing signs of stress.
