Bucktooth life-span?

mdsjohna Apr 22, 2008 10:17 AM

I am just curious if anyone knows the approximate lifespan of Bucktooth Tetra (Exodon Paradoxus). I have had mine for around 6 or 7 years now. Until recently I hadn't lost any. Over the last couple months I have lost 3 from the school of 12. I must admit I haven't been keeping up with cleaning (mostly vacuuming) but have kept up with water changes. I do not believe it is water quality. I think it is a lifespan issue. Anyone know or have had Bucktooths for quite a long time?

It's now almost a year later and I have lost a four more. I have been keeping up on maintance so I think they are just coming to the end of their life span.

I'm sorry you are losing so many (at least it's not all at once - that would indicate water quality issues). If I knew the life span, I would tell you, but I'm not sure and I can't find anything on the net for you. I've had your post as a hot topic since I read it the first time, and I will keep it up until you get an answer. I wish I could give you an answer.
